# Organisation settings, addresses and employees

## Currency
Open Administration → Organisation settings as an organisation administrator/manager. New organisations default to GHS (Ghanaian cedi); supported currencies are listed in the selector. Platform administrators can also set currency when provisioning an organisation.

Currency is fixed once prices, invoices, expenses or inventory exist because those numeric values use the organisation's base accounting currency. This change does not convert money or relabel historical invoices. The migration preserves an existing organisation's first recorded invoice currency, or its former ZMW accounting unit when it already has prices/expenses/inventory. New manual and automatic invoices use the organisation's selected currency; automatic billing never attaches charges to a draft in a different currency. Split invoices and receipts retain their invoice's currency. Currency selection must precede price setup.

## Addresses
Branches/facilities have editable street/building, address line 2, city, region, postal code, country and optional digital/GhanaPost GPS address. Organisation administrators/managers manage branches; facility managers can edit their assigned branch.

Patient registration/editing adds street/building, second line, postal code and digital address, alongside the existing residence town/district/region/country used by analytics. Existing residence data is preserved.

Staff addresses are stored on private employee records within the organisation, not on the global login user. Only authorised employee managers can access them. Address fields are optional so existing records remain valid.

## Employee management
Open Staff → Employees. Organisation administrators/managers can manage employees across their permitted organisation context; facility managers are restricted to their branch. Search by name, employee number or job title, and filter by status or branch.

Records include employee number, name, job title, permanent/fixed-term/part-time/casual/contractor/intern employment type, active/on-leave/inactive/terminated status, start/end dates, branch, department, contact details, emergency contact and address. Terminated employment requires an end date. HR records do not create clinical access or roles.

An employee may have no login. For an existing staff account choose Add employment record / address from Staff accounts, or explicitly select its login in the new employee form. New staff accounts automatically create an employee record. Organisation administrators can create a new login from an existing unlinked employee, retaining the HR record and its address. There is no matching across organisations or by email alone.

For linked accounts, change branch/department through Staff accounts; the employee assignment is synchronised. Editing HR contact email does not change login credentials. Inactive/terminated employees are blocked from existing and new staff sessions and cannot offer bookable clinician slots or receive new shift assignments. Reactivating employment restores linked account use. Users cannot disable their own account through HR, and ordinary organisation managers cannot disable/reactivate administrator accounts.

The existing leave approvals and shifts remain separate. On-leave status does not automatically create a leave request or cover arrangements. Payroll, salary processing, attendance and employment-document storage are not included in this change.

Run database migrations after pulling. Automatic deployment remains disabled.
